Term
What is Generalizability?  Important to what kind of study?
Definition
The extent which the findings can be applied to other groups and settings.  Important to Quantitative study
Term
What is transferability?  What kind of study is this important in?  What is one mechanism that can promote transferability?
Definition
The extent to which qualitative findings can be transferred to other settings.  Thick description could promote tranferability.  It is the rich and thorough description of the research setting or context so that others can make inferences about contextual similarities.
