Term
1. Pay is not a motivator
Definition

Definition
- When people are encouraged to think about what they will get for engaging in a task, they are less likely to take a risk and explore.
- #1 casualty of rewards is creativity
Term
6. Rewards undermine interest
Definition
- People who have intrinsic motivation go to work because they love it, not just to get a paycheck
- Extrinsic motivators are a poor substitute for genuine interest in one’s job
- Rewards may undermine intrinsic motivation
Term
