Term

Angle

Definition
- The union of 2 rays that have the same endpoint; measured in degrees or radians (trig.); the five types of angles are zero, acute, right, obtuse, and straight
Term

Sides

Definition
- One of the lines that make a flat (2-dimensional) shape.

- Or one of the surfaces that make a solid (3-dimensional) object.
Term

Vertex

Definition
- The common endpoint of the two rays
Term

Measure

Definition

-To find a number that shows the size or amount of something.

- Usually the number is in reference to some standard measurement, such as a meter or kilogram.

Term

Right Angle

Definition
- An angle which is equal to 90°, one quarter of a full revolution.
Term

Acute Angle

Definition
- An angle less than 90°
Term

Obtuse Angle

Definition
- An obtuse angle is more than 90° but less than 180°

- In other words, it is between a right angle and a straight angle.
Term

Complementary Angles

Definition

- Two Angles that add up to 90 degrees (a Right Angle). They don't have to be next to each other, just so long as the total is 90 degrees.

Term

Supplementary Angles

Definition

-Two Angles are Supplementary if they add up to 180 degrees.

- They don't have to be together to be supplementary, just so long as the total is 180 degrees.
