STATISTICAL SAMPLING
Definition

Attribute Sampling - check if the deliverables, services, or items are defective or not (yes/no)

Variable Sampling - we try to understand the defects, how bad and where, etc. defects are

CONTROL CHARTs (DATA REPRESENTATION)
Definition

Specification (Tolerance) Limits - limits specified (defined) in the contract with the Customer

Upper (Lower) Ctrl Limits - organizational Qlty Standards. Generally set at 3 or 6 Sigma

Stable (in ctrl) process: measurements are within upper & lower ctrl limits

Unstable (out of ctrl) process: measurement is outside (U or L) ctrl limit; rework needed

Unstable (out of ctrl) process: Rule of 7!

Flipped Specs (inside ctrl limits) and U&L Ctrl limits - if data point is outside of specs but within the ctrl limit then process is still stable (in ctrl) but improvement are needed (since customer req's aren't satisfied) & problems with customer may arise

Definition

-Qlty: providing the customer satisfaction by delivering exactly what the customer wants

-Prevention rather than inspection

-Overworking may cause Qlty problems

-Rushing thru the Qlty inspections may cause Qlty problems

-IF the product does not satisfy the Qlty req's, it needs to be fixed

-The Qlty processes, T&Ts have to be tailored by the PM

-Only the authorized processes & techniques should be applied
