Definition
Bronchodilator subclass. Relax muscle surrounding airways. Divided into short and long acting. Commonly end in "terol"

Short-acting Beta-2
Definition
Beta-2 agonist subclass. Most common are Albuterol (ProAir HFA), Levalbuterol (Xopenex). Used DURING asthma attacks

Definition
Beta-2 agonist subclass. Common meds are Serevent Diskus and Foradil and are used daily to prevent symptoms of asthma.

Newer, less sedating. Includes Loratadine (claritin), Cetirizine (Zyrtec), Fexofenadine (Allegra). Treats allergies but don't help cold symptoms well. Commonly end in "adine"
