Definition
GERD: Gastroesophageal reflux disease. Cause: weak or incompetent lower esophageal sphincter. Symptom: most common is heart burn.

Definition
Cause: Helicobacter Pylori. NSAID's is second most common. Symptoms: weakness, dizzy, thirst, moist skin, desire to defecate, pass tarry or red stool. Treatment: Inhibition of gastric acid, production of mucus.

Definition
Chron's disease is an inflammatory bowel disease. Symptoms: diarrhea, colicky pain, wt. loss, malaise, low grade fever. Cause: unknown may be bacterial or viral.

Nonspecific inflammatory condition of the colon.

Difference between Ulcerative Colitis and Chron's Disease?
Definition
Unlike Crohn disease, which can affect various sites in the gastrointestinal tract, ulcerative coliltis is confined to the rectum and colon.
