o   Penetration site- in the anterior depression of the GP foramen, at junction of palatine bone and alveolar process above and lingual to second molar

o   Landmarks to help- greater palatine foramen

o   Length of needle- extra-short or short 30/27 gauge

o   Angle- from opposite side of mouth at right angle to target area bevel toward palate

o   Penetration- needle inserted to 4-6 (<10 mm) (to boney resistance)

 

o   Recommended amount- 0.4-0.6 ml

o   Field- central, lateral, canine

o   Penetration site- center of papilla on midline

o   Landmarks to help- beneath incisive papilla, slightly into incisive foramen

o   Length of needle- extra-short or short 30/27 gauge

o   Angle- approach at 45 degree angle bevel toward palate

o   Penetration- 6-10 mm

o   Recommended amount- 1.4-1.8 ml

o   Penetration site- mucous membrane distal and lateral to most posterior molar

o   Landmarks to help- supraperiosteal, distal, and buccal to most posterior molar

o   Length of needle- short 25/27 gauge

o   Angle- syringe parallel to occlusal plane, lateral to teeth, bevel toward bone

o   Penetration-as much as or less that 4 mm, bevel under tissue, bevel toward bone

 

o   Recommended amount- 0.2-0.3 ml

o   Penetration site- medial to internal oblique ridge, lateral to pterygomandibular raphe, at or above height of coronoid notch

o   Landmarks to help- on medial surface of ramus, slightly superior to mandibular foramen

o   Angle- 2/3 to ¾ length of needle, until contact with bone, bevel toward bone

o   Penetration- 2/3 to ¾ length of needle, until contact with bone, bevel toward bone

o   Landmarks to help- slightly superior to mental foramen

o   Angle- app. 20 degrees to long axis of premolars, bevel towards bone

o   Penetration- 5-6 mm

 

o   Recommended amount- 0.6 ml

o   Field- at injection site

o   Penetration site- height of mucobuccal fold buccal to tooth

o   Landmarks to help- selected soft tissue, gingival or apex of tooth

o   Length of needle- extra-short or short 25/27/30 gauge

o   Angle- app. 20 degrees to long axis of tooth, directed toward apex of tooth bevel toward bone

o   Penetration- needle tip inserted to a depth of 3-6 mm to apex

 

o   Recommended amount- 0.6 ml
