Definition

(1)  A superficial skin infectino caused by either group A streptococci and/or Staphylococcus Aureus.

 

(2)  Usually seen on children and most commonly on the face.

 

(3)  It may initially present as vesicles or bullae that rupture and discharge a honey-colored serous fluid.  This fluid hardens to form a crust that has a lightly stuck-on appearance.
