Why are anti-inflammatory meds sometimes used?
Definition
because MS is an autoimmune disease that causes an inflammatory response. By decreasing inflammation, the effects on myelin destruction may be decreased.

How to anti-inflammatory agents work? When are they used?
Definition
They decrease inflammation at an active site. They are used during an exacerbation to improve speed of recovery from that particular exacerbation.

What do immunomodulators do? How are they given?
Definition
They imrpove the course of the disease and are given as repeated injections (intramuscular or subcutaneous). They slow down the progression of the disease and some reduce relapse rate.

Definition
Flu Sx: Weakness, nausia.

Definition
