Definition
the war between Zeus (and his allies) vs. Cronus and the other Titans. Zeus tricks Cronus into disgorging his other children, who team up with their brother Zeus. Hecatonchires and Cyclopes (other children of Gaia and Uranus) also ally with Zeus. Zeus wins and locks the Titans down in Tartarus (darkness beneath the Earth).

son of Iapetus and Clymene. brings fire to the mortals. Zeus punishes him - tied to a wheel, stake through chest, liver eaten by eagle every day. Tricks Zeus into accepting bones and fat as a sacrifice so mankind can keep the meat. When Zeus hides fire, Prometheus steals it back again.
