Possessive Pronouns
Definition
Although the possessive pronoun is a separate word from the noun, it is pronounced in the same breath as the noun, as though they were one word.

μου (my)
μας (our)
σου (your)
σας (y’all’s)
του (his)
τους (m their)
της (her)
τους (f their)
του (its)
τους (n their)
Term
The “Three Syllable Rule”
Definition
Greek words are never accented earlier than the third-to-last syllable. Therefore, if we are using a possessive pronoun with a noun that is accented on the third to last syllable, then, in pronouncing that noun with its possessive pronoun in one breath, we now are actually accenting on the fourth-to-last syllable.
Term

Definition
Singular
1st Person είμαι ([I] am)
2nd Person είσαι ([you] are)
3rd Person είναι ([he,she,it] is)

είναι ([they, they, they] are)
Term
The Pronouns of Subject
Definition
Normally, one does not need to use the pronoun with the verb, because the verb’s doer is implied by the verbal form itself. Only in emphatic statements does one use the pronoun with the verb.

εγώ—I
εσύ—you
αυτός, αυτή, αυτό—he, she, it
(also: this [masc.], this [fem.], this [neut.])
εμείς—we
εσείς—y’all
αυτοί, αυτές, αυτά—they (masc.), they (fem.), they (neut.) (also: these[masc.], these[fem.], these [neut.])
