Summary: The narrator (boy) is in love with Mangan's sister,he can't express his love and talks w/ her a little, wanted to go to bizzare w/ her but she had a retreat and so he promised her a present, so he asked his uncle for money to get there, he went through many obstacles but in the end he realize not to buy a present, the bizarre was closing by the time he got there.

Summary:  There was a party being held by Lady Belmy and had  a peculiar guest, My. Cornelius and he made a cat called Tobemory speak english. The cat insulted all of the guests and the lady of the house liked the cat, but the cat died from fighting w/ the other cat at the party. Then later on Mr.Cornelius was experimenting w/ a gentle elephant by it went into rage and killed him.
