AP/PA - center on MSP

AP/PA oblique - 2" lateral to MSP toward upside

lateral - center of MCP

all projections - top of IR at level of mouth

esophagus full of barium

barium pentratated

AP - esophagus visible through T spine

Oblique - esophagus between t spine & heart

Lateral - arms out of way, no rotation

Prep - stomach must be empty, NPO 8-9 hours

demonstrates:size, shape, position of stomach

peristalsis

filling & emptying of duodenal bulb

abnormalities

respiration = expiration

center midway between MSP and left lateral border of abdomen at level 1-2" above lower rib margin

barium in body and pylorus

RAO position - 40 to 70 degrees

center midway between MSP and lateral border of upside @ lower rib margin
