2 Fire handles lights

2 loops test lights

2 master caution

2 master warning

(14 lights total)

apu fire annunciation

aural warning (bell)

Voice warning for each engine

Ability to silence warning

Term
Pulling out activated fire handle lead to?
Definition

1: silences aural warnings

2: rearms system

3: trips generator control relay

4: shuts off fuel supply at wing spar

5: closes pnuematic crossfeed valve

6: shuts off fluid to hydraulic pump

7: enables fire bottles

Term
If a fire loop light out
Definition

1: preflight, check mel and call mtx

2: in flight follow QRH test opposite side.

3: test bulb to make sure it's not the problem

Term
antiskid test
Definition
test switch should illuminate 4 lights

parking brake must be off

all lights should extinguish when test button off

any lights remaining on, indicate system failure.
Term
gear handle release button
Definition

1: use only as directed by QRH

2: releases downlock and bypasses ground sensing circuit

3: verify nose wheel centered before raising.

Term
checking and using pitot heat selector/meter
Definition

1. check capt pitot heat to verify emer dc bus is powered

2. Anytime selector is not off all circuits are powered

3. On ground RAT probe is inhibited

4. Normal for different positions on gage do not show the same current draw.

Term
Normal position of APU switches
Definition

1. Fire Agents- OFF

2. Fire control - NORM

3. Air - OFF

4. Doors- Auto

Term
The APU is started, but a generator not online?
Definition
Reset the APU genrator
Term
Using external power to start the APU, which power source will supply the electrical system once the APU is started?
Definition

1. The APU

System priority:

Engine generators

APU

External

Term

The APU air usage?

Definition

Used for engine starting and air conditioning.

Use on ground only

Term
How does battery switch affect APU operation?
Definition

1. Apu control circuits are on the battery bus.

2. With the battery switch is off, APU won't start.

3. If the APU is running and the battery switch is turned to off, the APU will shut down.

Term
Will the apu master switch shut off the APU immediately?
Definition

NO

It will close the air valve if open and allow one minute of a cooling period before shutting down the APU.

One minute delay regardless an air valve position.

Term
What automatically shuts down the APU?
Definition

OOF

1. Low oil pressure

2. Overspeed

3. Fire

Term
DC start pump, what is it? how does it operate?
Definition

1. DC pump located in right wing tank.

2. Powered by DC transfer bus.

3. Used to start the APU or an engine by the Battery power only.

4. Has an on off switch on the Fuel Panel.

5.Has no thermal overheat protection.

Term
 IGNITION OVRD
Definition
Ignition from exciters A and B occurs even if FUEL control lever is OFF
Term
IGNITION BOTH
Definition
Ignition from A and B exciters activate when FUEL control lever is ON.

Term
IGNITION SYSTEM A/B
Definition
Ignition exciter A/B activates when FUEL control lever is ON
Term
AIR COND SHUTOFF Switch
Definition
OVRD - Restores pack operation with engines mismatched.
AUTO - Both packs automatically shut down if either engine fails during
takeoff; the respective pack shuts down if the heat exchanger cooling is
insufficient; the left/right pack shuts down if the conditioned air supply to the
cockpit/cabin is too high.

Term
Mach Trim Compensator MTC
Definition
 The MTC
compensates for nosedown pitching moments that are generated during operation
at high Mach numbers. MTC function can be inhibited by moving MACH TRIM
COMP switch to OVRD.

Term
Yaw Damper
Definition
OFF - Yaw damper operation is disabled if AP is disengaged. If AP is
engaged, yaw damper operation is automatically provided.
ON - Yaw damper operation is provided with AP engaged or disengaged.
OVRD - Inhibits yaw damper operation with AP engaged or disengaged.

Term
Auxiliary pump OVRD
Definition
Auxiliary pump is protected from overheat damage by a thermal
protective circuit that automatically shuts the pump off when
exceeding normal operating temperature. OVRD position bypasses
the protective circuit to permit continuous pump operation when
needed.

Term
TRANS HYD PUMPS Switch
Definition
ON - Mechanically connects left and right hydraulic systems.
OFF - Mechanically separates left and right hydraulic systems.

Term
GND PROX WARN Switch OVRD
Definition
Inhibits warning when landing is made with less than normal landing
flap configuration.
Term

Pnuematic pressure gage

What is it?

What are normal indications?

Definition

1. shows the pressure in pnuematic crossfeed manifold.

2. limit 36 minus 1 psi per 1000'.

3. Max 45 PSI during crossfeed start.

4. Max continuous for airfoil is bottom of yellow arc.

5. Max pressure is red radial line.

6. Minimum pressure for airfoil is 20 PSI.

Term

Flight recorder.

What is it and when is it off?

Definition

1. The black box

2. it is off when the parking brake is set or both fuel levers are off.

Term
Why burn the center fuel before the mains?
Definition

1. Wings below 9100 must add center fuel to ZFW.

2. Change in ZFW gives a CG change that could be out of limits.

Term
What is on the right hydraulic systems?
Definition

    Right:

1. Gear

2. Rudder

3. Outboard flight spoilers

4. Right reverser

5. Ventral stair

Term
What is on the left hydraulic systems?
Definition

    Left:

1. Inboard flight spoilers

2. Elevator augmentation

3. Left thrust reverser

Term
What is on both hydraulic systems?
Definition

    Both:

1. Brakes,

2. Steering,

3. Flaps,

4. Slats,

5. Ground spoilers.

Term
TRP-Flex
Definition

1. Assumed temp entered to derive a derated power setting.

2. Assumed temp found using takeoff data and takeoff weight.

3. Assumed temp not less than ambient plus 10

4. Flex can't be used when:deiced, runway contaminated, windshear.

Term
