Final Question!!!

A model car is created using a scale of 1:12.

The model has a length of 24 inches.

What would the length of the model be if it were created using a scale of 1:8?

Definition

If the scale was 1:12 and the model was 24 inches or 2 feet, the real car would be 24 feet long.

If the real car was 24 feet long and a scale of 1:8 was used to make a model, the model would be 3 feet long because

1 = x

  8   24

 8x = 24, so x = 3
