A judgment is a final determination of matter beffore the court.

Writ

 

ex. after a judgment is made the person who won the case wants to inforce his judgment because the loser is not completing the award so the winner obtains a writ that orders the sheriff to pick up certain items of property and deliver that property to the winner.

A writ is a court order directed to the sheriff or to another government official directing that person to perform whatever is ordered in the court decree.

ex. someone involved in a trial after it has become very lengthy the court issues a decree ordering the defendant to sell something to the plaintiff.

Definition
Today a decree is the same as a judgment. It is a final deteremination of a matter before the court.
