Definition
Born from Uranus's severed genitals. Has tons of sex but doesn't form emotional bonds w/lovers. Animal = goose, represents Mother Goddess. Often seen w/Pan (ugly). Son = Cupid (Aros), can be multiplied, she teaches him to shoot toxic arrows that make you fall in love with the first person you see. Shown w/cap from Anatolia.

Definition
How emotional-sexual ties were started. Psyche = closest thing to a fairy. People think she's so beautiful they call her the knew Aphrodite. Aphrodite uses Cupid to play a trick on her; makes her fall in love w/the first person she sees. They can make love but can't look at each other. Once she sneaks and looks at him, loses him but they have a child named Love.

Definition
May be Cupid's father. Often shown making love. Sometimes shown married; not true because nothing can control Aphrodite. They belong together because blood causes madness in both war (Ares) and sex (Aphrodite).

Child = Hermaphroditus. Final mediation between sexes. Not a hermaphrodite. River nymph wants him so much she gets the gods to join their bodies together, they become a hermaphrodite.
