1. find the verb

2. find the subject (ask who or what in front of the verb)

3. Find the complement (read the subject then the verb and ask who or what)
4. find adjectives by looking for nouns/pronouns and words that modify them.

5. find adverbs by looking for verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs and words that modify them

6. Find conjunctions (words that join)

Find prepositions (from preposition list) and their phrases.

 

7. find interjections (words that interrupt) if there are any
