Term
What is the LORD's response to Jehoshaphat's prayer? Who does he use to deliver his response?
Definition
Through Jahaziel, he tells the people of Judah that he'll fight the battle for them. Surely enough, when they arrive, there are only corpses left.

Singers and minstrels who praise the Lord's holiness.
Term
Jehoshaphat's son did things differently than his father did. Elaborate.

Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, did evil in the eyes of the LORD. He built up the high places and Asherah poles, in contrary to his father, who tore down the high places and followed the LORD.
Term
What is Jehoram's first move as king?
Definition
He slaughters all his brothers, along with some princes of Israel.
Term
The middle letters of Jehoram's name describe his actions in what way?
Definition
"He had also built high places on the hills of Judah and had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray."
Term
Ahaziah is another wicked king. How does his demise play out?
Definition
Through Ahaziah's visit to Joram, God brought about Ahaziah's downfall. When Ahaziah arrived, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab. While Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, he found the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's relatives, who had been attending Ahaziah, and he killed them. He then went in search of Ahaziah, and his men captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. He was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, "He was a son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart." So there was no one in the house of Ahaziah powerful enough to retain the kingdom.
Term
Why is Ahaziah buried at all?
Definition
He was a son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.
Term
Who is the first and only Israelite queen?
Definition

Athaliah, mother of Ahaziah. She goes on a rampage after her son's death, and destroys the whole royal family.*

*Joash is hidden for six years

Term
Who is Jehoiada?
Definition
A priest who greatly influenced Joash during his reign (he even anointed him!).
Term
So, Joash is really faithful. Right?
Definition
He does right in the LORD's eyes only while his chief mentor, Jehoiada, is living. He does evil as soon as he dies.
Term
What is the irony in the burial spots of Jehoiada and Joash?
Definition
Jehoiada is buried with the kings for his good influence over Israel, even though he wasn't a king. Joash, however, isn't buried in the tomb of the kings.
Term
Who is Zechariah?
Definition
A son of Jehoiada the priest. Joash kills him, despite all that his father did for him.
