Describe the type of Offensive Operation - Movement to Contact
Definition
Seeks to gain or regain contact with the enemy and develop the situation. It allows the CMDR to make initial contact with the enemy with minimum force thereby avoiding an extensive engagement or battle before he is prepared for decisive action.

Definition
Operation characterized by coordinated movement, supported by fire, conducted to defeat, destroy, neutralize or capture the enemy. May be conducted to seize or secure terrain. Focusing combat power against the enemy with a tempo and intensity that the enemy cannot match.

Operation that usually follows a successful attack is designed to disorganize the enemy in depth. The exploitation extends the initial success of the attack by preventing the enemy from disengaging, withdrawing, and reestablishing an effective defense.

Definition
Defense of an area or position in which maneuver is used together with fire and terrain to seize the initiative from the enemy. The Mobile Defense destroys the enemy attacking force through offensive action.
