| The social work team met every day to discuss client issues and how to address their needs. We reviewed their appointments in order to determine whether they needed to be transported. There were numerous times when we had multiple transports in one day that left few staff on site. I solved the problem by creating a centralized appointment calendar on the shared drive which made it easier for staff to manage transportation issues. |

Definition
| Client with poor housekeeping skills needed to clean his apartment for an inspection. The client's primary issue was not cleaning but not being able to afford expensive groceries at neighborhood supermarket. I offered to take him to Walmart if he lets me work with him on cleaning his apartment. He agreed and we identified trouble areas in his apartment. I directed him and he did the work. Afterwards, I took him to Walmart. |

Definition
| A paranoid schizophrenic client got pregnant and her psychiatrist lowed her medication so it wouldn't affect the fetus. As a result, she became more psychotic. In turn, it required more weekly visits. During her last trimester, I met with her 4 times a week compared to the once weekly I spent with other clients. My department gave me an ABCD award. |

Definition
| I was making a home visit to one of my former clients. He didn't answer the door bell but I was able to gain entry into the building. I noticed his apartment door was open. I called his name but he didn't answer. I found his lying on his couch unconscious. I immediately called 911 and was instructed to place him on the floor and observe him until EMS arrived. They took him to the hospital and he survived. |

Definition
| A former Director was running a community meeting every month but later on changed it to a quarterly basis because she didn't have time to do it more frequently. The clients were upset at the change and it affected staff and client morale. I volunteered to run the meeting every month. |

Definition
| Early in my career, I was working at a women's shelter where a new Director was hired. He enforced new responsibilities for the social service staff which included running groups and conducting hourly tours throughout the facility. At first I disagreed and didn't see the importance to the change. However, I complied and later found the new tasks to be very beneficial to the clients and the team. |

Definition
| I was let go from my previous position as a supervisor because I was no longer a good fit for the position. During my second year, my supervisory skills were challenged and I discovered I am more comfortable using my non-administrative social work skills to help individuals and families directly than managing a team. |
