Definition
phagocytic cells capable of movement that move from blood into tissue spaces. These cells have a bilobed nucleus and a granulated cytoplasm that stains with the acid dye eosin red.

nonphagocytic granulocytes that play a role in allergic responses. These cells have a lobed nucleus and heavily granulated cytoplasm that stains with methylene blue (basic dye).
