Iambic Pentameter

Definition

Is a commonly used type of metrical line in traditional verse and verse drama. The term describes the rhythm that the words establish in that line, which is measured in small groups of syllables called "feet".

Definition

Refers to the use of slang or colloquialisms in communication. It is however too casual or loose to be acceptable for academic writing. Besides informal, there are formal and medium languages.

Definition
Literature. a form of stream-of-consciousness writing that represents the inner thoughts of a character.
Movies, Television. the device of showing a character on screen who does not appear to speak, although the character's voice is heard on the soundtrack to create the illusion that the audience is hearing the character's thoughts.

Definition

Usually internal conflict involves a character being faced with a difficult choice. Often, the choices of the main character of a work greatly influence the resolution of the plot. Internal conflict can be revealed through dialogue, narration and a character's action.
