| Crassus, being the first to fall, made enemies with the Parthian archers, who shot him and ended his career. Shortly after, the senate bought Pompeys support and wanted to eliminate Caesar. Demanding Caesar to give up his power or be declared a public enemy, the senate depended on the citizens to think Caesaars invasion of Itally was treason, but they instead honored him. Pompey, his army, and many senators than fled to Greece where they were defeated by Caesar at Pompeians in 45 B.C. The senate now boiled in hatred and jealousy because Caesar had now destroyed what they had put so much effort and time into working on. The senators then plotted against Caesar and killed him on March 15 45 B.C. (The Ides of March). That was the end of the First Triumvirate. |

| At Caesar's funreal, Mark Antony, one of Caesar's friends, immediatly took control and plotted to inflame the audience and make them hate the senators. Octaviun, Caesars heir, was alerted of his step-fathers death and immediatly changed his name and took the same position. Antony was in a state of shock because he had already sold away the inheritance, and when Octaviun asked why the conspirators weren't punished he was again hit. He had underestimated Octaviun and his resemblance to his father. Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, the governor of nearer Spain, now chose to bak up Antony, but fighting against Caesar's heir was unjust so together, with Octaviun, they formed the Second Triumvirate. |
