Lights can be turned on by placing the 3 position switch to on, a deceleration of 2.5 G's, and loss of power to the essential DC bus.

 

take note!: a T/O modification may leave only 7 emergency lights on the HC-130P by removing the light on the left side emergency exit

One is on the right hand side of the cargo compartment forward bulkhead.  The other is on the aft right hand side of the main landing gear bulkhead.

-Don O2 immediately

- prolonged exposure (5 mins or more) of fire ext agent should be avoided

- wet towel helps for passenger 02 systems

- If fumes are present do not turn electrical switches on or off until the fires is elimiated.

- If fire is near the flare ejector cases, jettison the flares

- smoke will go to the flight deck so open fwd escape hatch during emergencies (must be slowed to 150 KIAS)

- close paratroop doors before putting emerg escape hatch on (neg pressure exists)

- Descend if PAX on bourd need 02

-life expectancy/water time table is a guide

Order of bailout exits are cargo door, paratroop doors and crew entrance door

-WARN: do not inflate life jacket prior to bailout as it may be damaged on egress.

-WARN: lowering ramp above 150KIAS may cause severe buffetting.  Only open the door if airspeed can not be reduced.

- Jettison the crew door.

Bailout from crew door is not reccomended at airspeeds above 150 KIAS or with landing gear extended or without a helmet.

- Crew door may not jettison if 3.1 inches of mercury pressure differential is there.

-Bailout from crew entrance door in squatting position at the rear.  Push head first outward and down.  Do not go feet first.
