Resolution is measured in DPI (dots per inch) in printing terms. The higher the DPI the more dots there are per inch and the higher the quality and sharper the image.

A monitor's resolution is measured in pixels. Pixels are single colored squares on the screen. The measure of a computer monitor's resolution is presented as 600x800 or 1366x768 for example.

USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. The ports are located on the computer and they provide a way to connect many different technologies to the computer without requiring many different ports to be available.

An external hard drive can be used in addition to the computer's built in storage area in order to allow your computer access to more files than might fit on its built in storage. The also allow transfer of files from one computer to another and provide back-up in case your computer fails.
