As you enter the front entrance of the lodge you see guest services; The donor wall of those that have generously donated to make this park what it is today.

 

Parlor- great areas to sit and visit, eat lunch/dinner, connect to the internet, or just read a book.

 

The Great room (has a solarium area)  Often see students studying, groups knitting, book study discussions, or people just relaxing and enjoying the views.

                                          

Redbud Cafe  lower level sells coffee, pastries, ice cream.  There is also a gift shop in the café area.  Restrooms are also located on the lower level.

You'll see artwork all around the park in many forms.  Artist are local, national, and even internationally-renown.  Some of the furniture in the lodge was designed by a local artist.

3 stories with a unique curvature.  While in the Great room walk in and look up at the amazing design.  There are 3 fireplaces located at the lodge.  Two inside and one outside of the Redbud Café.

Great place to grab something to eat.  It has great burgers, salads, wraps, pizza.  You can see the menu posted on the menu boards.  a family of 4 can eat for around $20.

 

Notice the concrete deck is elevated allowing the tree roots to the mature trees to continue to grow uninterrupted.    Mr. Van Valkenburg designed the patio with sustainability in mind.

Behind the patio seating area you can see the largest cottonwood tree on the property.  Some of our literacy programming happens here.(story time and the Mobile library happen here during nice weather months)

 

If you have lived in Tulsa you know this area was where the Blair Manson sat.  A lot of the land was a wide open field with some really beautiful trees.  If a tree was too unhealthy to remain standing they tried to repurpose those trees and you'll see them throughout Adventure Playground used as benches, tables, and upside down climbing areas

Sensory Garden (all ages) Kids enjoy the giant rock they can spin, a mirror maze, hidden musical instruments, and a large enclosed water tank that you can spin a lever and create a tornado.  Everything is based on STEM education. (science, technology, engineering, and math)

SOUTH SIDE OF CATERPILLAR BRIDGE

Definition

Most of the playground equipment comes from Germany and the Netherlands.  (the towers are from Germany)

Like all features in the park, they encourage kids to learn through play.

 

The park is ADA accessible.  There is a ramp that goes up on top of the cabana restrooms so that the towers can be wheelchair accessible to any guest that may wish access.

 

The Cabana restrooms feature murals by local artist.  The exception, is the restroom closest to the ramp entrance, has no mural.  It is designed to be sensory sensitive for children with autism that might need a quiet place.  Their is another quiet room in the lodge located behind guest services.

Two Blue Herons and a Paddle Fish

Both of these animals are native to Oklahoma.

 

Behind the paddle fish are a few Bucket Swings.  These swings are easier to use for guests in wheelchairs.  You'll also find bucket swings in other areas of the park.

A large fun engineering factory with water.

 

The tower closest to water mountain also has a water feature down the side.  These areas encourage teamwork and it takes 20-25 kids to fully activate and experience the water feature in the tower.

This bridge crosses the water area that will allow visitors to explore the park from along the water area called       Peggy's Pond.  

 

If you look ahead you can see ONEOK Boathouse.

 

Quicktrip Great Lawn- this is where we have major concerts.  The stage is set up on the sidewalk.  This areas can accommodate 5-6 thousand guests.

Definition

Large open room where we facilitate programming.  Mon. through Sat. mornings they have free play for children.

 

Also houses in the back area an exhibit by the internationally-renowned artist Mark Dion.  It's called (Cabinet of Wonder).  Mr. Dion and his team spent a year and a half collecting artifacts from Okla. and over the world.  This exhibit is to spark curiosity and conversation.  70% of the artifacts are from NE Okla. the other 30% from all over the world.

 

The boathouse is the hub for programming at the Gathering Place.  Programming is what makes the park so unique.  We've created unique programs and activate spaces for a diversity of people to enjoy.  Programming provides the opportunity to create new experiences for our guests.

These amazing colorful lights were created by a nationally recognized artist "Jan Lewin".  

The display is called (EDISON CLOUD).  It's beautiful in the evening as it changes colors.

 

There are also restrooms in the lobby area.

Here you can experience the Tulsa Skyline and horizon.  It's also a great place to experience concerts on the Great lawn.  It's beautiful at night as the lighting will change colors.

 

The Vista is the boathouse restaurant.  It will offer delicious fusion cuisine at affordable prices($12-20 for an entrée) with the look and feel of a fine dining experience.
