"al-hadath"

Minor ritual impurity. This means things that nullify (cancel) one's ablution (wudu').

1. if anything exits from the private parts

2. loss of consiousness: falling asleep, fainting, insanity

3. direct contact between the skins of a man and woman who are not mahram (they could marry)

4. touching private parts with the palm or inner surfaces of the fingers.

Wudu'

Ablution: to wash certain parts of the body with water, with the intention of worship.

"arkan"

Obligatory integrals, or one of the legally necessary steps of an action.

"arkan al-wudu'"

Integrals of wudu'

The six "arkan" of wudu' are:

1. intention

2. wash the face

3. wash the arms up to and including the elbows

4. wipe a little of the head with wet hands

5. to do these things in the order mentioned
