Definition

2. Plan & Coordinate operations, maintenance and supply of MACCS

3. Coordinate with appropriate commands to plan for deployment & employment of MACG and its seperately deployable detachments as the MACCS fof an ACE.

4. Coordinate with other US Services/Allies for planning/conducting MAGTF air ops in joint/multi-national force operations.

5. Advise ACE commander on applicable matters pertaining to employment of agencies comprising MACCS.

6. Perform command/staff functions associated with fulfiling MACGS mission.

7. Conduct operations while in nuclear, biological, chemical and/or EW environment.

8. Maintain capability for deploying independent units.

9. Plan and coordinate air defense ops of MAGTF.

Mission of Marine Tactical Air Control Squadron

(MTACS)

Definition
Provides equipment, maintenance, and ops for the TACC fo ACE. Equips, mans, operates, maintains current operations section of TACC. Provides maintenance facility for TACC future ops/planning sections; installs, maintains associated automated systems.

Definition
Provides air surveillance, control of aircraft, surface to air weapons for AAW, continuous all weather radar/non radar ATC services and airspace management in support of MAGTF

6 Tasks of MACS

Definition

1. Perform command/staff functions associated with fulfiling MACS mission

2. Coordinate with appropriate commands to plan for deployment/employment of squadron & seperately deployable detachments

3. Provide deployable detachments capable of air surveillance, airspace management, control of aircraft and SAMS for AAW in support fo MAGTF.

4. Provide deployable detachments capable of providing ATC services at existing/expeditionary airfields and remote area landing sites

5. When reinforced with TMD detachment, provide SAM fires in assigned zones in defense of vital areas, against theater missle attack and engage surviving fixed/rotary wing threats

6. Serve as operational POC between MACCS and national/international ATC agencies

Definition
Provides expeditionary comm for ACE of MEF, including phased deployment of task organized elements thereof.

Definition

1. Provide for effective command of subordinate detachments

2. assist systems planning/engineering of ACE comm. install, operate, maintain expeditionary comm

3. Provide operational systems control centers as required to coordinate comm

4. Provide calibration/repair facilities for all ground common teast measurement diagnostic equipment in MAW (TMDE)

5. Provide digital backbone of comm support for ACE CE, FOBs, MACCS agencies for up to 2 airfields per detachment

6. Provide tactical automated switching and telephone services for ACE CE/TACC

5. maintain ability to provide continuous control of direct air support while displacing by echelon

6. Provide personnel/facilities for simultaneous operation of DASC/DASC Airborne

7. Coordinate/integrate MAGTF direct air support ops with those of other Service/Allies/Nations

Definition

(Battalion)

Provides close-in, low altitude, surface-air weapons fires in defense of MAGTF assests, defending FWD combat areas, maneuver forces, vital areas, installations, units engaged in special/independent ops.

Definition

1. Provide for effective command, admin, comm, supply, logistic suport of subordinate batteries

2. Maintain primary capability as highly mobile, vehicle mounted, man-portable surface-air weapons component of MAGTF. Ability to rapidly deploy in the assault echelon of expeditionary aspect.

3. Provide surface-air weapons support for units engaged in special/independent ops

4. Provide separate deployment fo subordinate batteries/PLTs to accomodate special situations

5. Plan/coordinate requirements for liaison/combinations with appropriate commands to ensure effective integration of LAAD units

6. Provide early warning of hostile air threats to other elements fo air defense system
