Typically maneuvers to the opposite side of the structure of the first engine unless directed otherwise by incident commander. May have assignments that could include exposure protection, firefighting, stand by, etc.. 

 

*If responding to a structure with a sprinkler system and/or standpipes, the third due engine will provide support at the fire department connection

Definition

Provides support to the thirds due engine, this includes a water source if directed. This engine should refrain, if possible, from removing tools and equipment from their apparatus.

Will need to report to apparatus you initially placed your tag at. Ensure all personnel that tagged in at apparatus are accounted for. Any personnel that have not been accounted for should be relayed to command immediately.

Definition

A minimum of two 1 3/4 lines with a pump pressure of 125 lbs. which can be adjusted as needed. Consideration should be given for one 2 1/2 line charged for additional backup.

 

One 1 3/4 lines is for initial attack team. The other is for the backup team.

 

These lines should have a minimum of two firefighters on each line if advancing.
