Handles the finances and organization of the film. This involves securing the funds to create the film and acting as the liaison between the filmmakers and the company fronting the money .As such, the producer is responsible for preparing a budget and making sure the production does not succeed it.

Writes the screenplay. Either the screenwriter writes a script and pitches it to a producer (sometimes with the help of an agent) or a prodcution company may obtain the rights to a literary work and hire a screenwriter to write a treatment (summary of the plot). If the treatment is approved, the screenwriter writes a script, which will likely be revised many times by other writers.
