This is a gear driven power steering pump. It should be:

a. Securely mounted with no loose or missing bolts

b. Not be cracked or leaking

c. We will go further on this when we are on the other side

Top and bottom main radiator hoses and all the hoses from the coolant reservoir and all the heater hoses should be:

a. Securely mounted with fasteners at both ends

b. The hoses should not be swollen, cracked or leaking

Water pump should be:

a. Securely mounted, no loose or missing or corroded bolts

b. Should not have illegal welds or be cracked or leaking

Coolant reservoir should be:

a. Securely mounted, no loose or missing nuts or bolts

b. Should not be cracked, dented, corroded or leaking

c. If it has a sight window, I would use that to check my coolant level; if not, I would check it through the top cap, and if necessary, add coolant

d. The cap should fit tightly and not be corroded or leaking

Alternator should be:

a. Securely mounted with no loose or missing nuts or bolts

b. The housing should not be damaged

c. The wires should be securely mounted and should not have any loose, broken or bare wires

d. The pulley should be aligned with the other pulleys

The belts to the water pump and alternator:

a. Should not be cut, cracked or frayed

b. Have no more than 3/4 inch play at the center between pulleys

The exhaust system should be:

a. Securely mounted, no loose or missing bolts or clamps

b. Have no tears, holes or black soot marks that could indicate a leak
