Google drive is a source to create and upload files so you can access them from anywhere. The first 5G over storage is free.

Other features that are great about Google Drive is the sharing feature. You can share documents, presentations, and spreadsheets with anyone in a number of ways. You can allow other to just view the work. Or you can allow the others to comment only. Finally, you can allow others to edit.

What is so great about the edit feature is being able to collaborate on a document. I have worked with colleagues to create curriculum and write articles/books together. It is nice because you both see what the other is doing immediately. There is no waiting for an email.

This holds true for student collaboration as well. You can have students create a document to share to enable collaboration on a project. It is nice because you can also view the work to see who has been working on the project.

This web-based polling tool provides presenters with the capability of designing quick response polls which can be utilized in live audience presentations as well as over the web.  Responses can be open-ended or multiple-choice.  Individuals can participate in the poll by sending a text via their mobile carrier to a short numeric code, via Twitter, or by visiting the Poll Everywhere website and entering their response via the web.  Smartphone users can also vote via an embeddable voting widget, on a phone's web browser using PollEv.com.  Votes are typically displayed on a real time screen in two to five seconds.  The presenter has the ability to start and stop polls and to specify whether multiple votes from the same person will be allowed. Poll Everywhere keeps track of who has already voted and can prevent those who have already participating form submitting an additional response.

An instructor might use this app during an in-class presentation to gain on-the-fly feedback regarding students’ understanding of content.  It can also be used for mid or post course assessment and evaluation.  Another use might be brief surveys on topics related to the course, particularly in areas in which students may feel most comfortable providing their opinions anonymously.

Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their students through a series of educational exercises, polling questions and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Socrative is free for students and instructors!

Polling in general is a great way to gauge what your students are thinking or if they understand the topic/concept. You can challenge your students’ thinking.   NOTE: Socrative is limited to 50 users per activity.

When using socrative in the classroom you orally ask a question and the students would use the socrative app to respond.
