Black: 5 roll position with adjustment, pip count of 27, 10 checkers, mean 2.7 which lead to an adjustment of 3, 5. But the lack of checkers on the 3 is a problem, every subsequent 3 will lead to a big wastage, so the result 5x7+1+3.5=39.5 is probably more around 40.5 (result 40.1)

White: 7 roll position: 7x7+1=50 (result 50.1)

Cube action: a count of 40 EPC is 5. 5-3=2 so point of last take 42.5, big drop.

BLACK: 93.05%    WHITE: 6.95%

Double/Drop. Double/Take +1.137(+0.137). No double +0.996(-0.004)

BLACK: Nice roll position, with the 6 nearly cleared, it’s still a correction of 7, even with 7 checkers off. 43 (result 43.2)

WHITE: nice position, with only 7 checkers +6.5. 44.5 (result 44.4)

CUBE ACTION: 43 is 6. 6-3=3. Point of last take 46

White is within 2 point of the last take, so double/take.

BLACK: 67.79%  WHITE 32.21%

BLACK and WHITE: nice position +7. So 50/52 for black (result 49.9/51.9).

CUBE ACTION: 50 is 7. 7-3=4. Point of last take : 54.

Close double and clear take.

BLACK 68.63% WHITE 31.37%

DOUBLE/TAKE  / NO DOUBLE 0.000 / DOUBLE/PASS +0.452

BLACK: 3 roll position : 22 (result 22.1)

WHITE: this is a position between a 2 roll and a 3 roll position, probably closer than a 3 roll so let’s say 20 (result 20.4)

CUBE ACTION: point of last take 22.

So redouble/take because you have a lot of market losers.

BLACK: 64.89% WHITE: 35.11%

REDOUBLE/TAKE +0.445 / NO REDOUBLE -0.030 / PASS +0.555

BLACK: 4 roll with adjustment: mean a little less than 2, than adjustment a little less than 1. 4 roll position means 29 + 0.9=29.9 (result 29.9)

WHITE: Nice position: 25+7=32 (result 31.8)

CUBE ACTION: 29.9/7=4. 4-3=1. Point of last take at 30.9

So double/drop

BLACK: 79.88% WHITE: 20.12%

DOUBLE/PASS / NO DOUBLE -0.151 / TAKE +0.150

BLACK: 3 roll position :22

WHITE: nice position, normally +6 with so few checkers left but the fact that the 6 point is empty push you right back to 7. so 22 (result 21.8)

CUBE ACTION: Take point at 22. So it's a tiny take...but no recube vig. So probably a drop as a normal 3 roll position.

BLACK: 75.38% WHITE 24.62%

DOUBLE/PASS / NO DOUBLE:-0.340 / TAKE +0.011

BLACK: 5 roll position with adjustment. 22 pips/ 9 checkers = mean at 2,4 so nearly 1 EPC. 7x5+1+0.8=36.8 (result 37.1)

WHITE: Stack and straggler formula : 3.5n+p that leads to 3.5x6+18=21+18=39

CUBE ACTION: 37/7=5. 5-3=2. Point of last take 38.8, close decision between take/drop, most likely a drop. A pip closer to home, it would be a take.

BLACK: 77.09% WHITE 22.91%

REDOUBLE/PASS / NO DOUBLE -0.169 / TAKE +0.027

Always useful to know several race formulas: here Keith Count says: redouble/take.

If we use EPC, we can see that both players will have a flat position with more wastage than the reference position, so let's say 11 for both. That lead to a count of 68/75.

68/7=9. 9-3=6. 68+6=74 So we have a clear drop.

If we use the Trice formula, we have also a pass.

So two formulas say Drop.

BLACK: 80.03% WHITE: 19.97%

REDOUBLE/PASS / NO REDOUBLE -0.106 / TAKE +0.083

BLACK: it's between a nice and a flat position, closer to a nice, so we give a correction of +8 that leads to 42 (result 42)

WHITE: Nice position so 45

CUBE ACTION: 42/7=6. 6-3=3 so point of last take 45.

DOUBLE/TAKE (73,11% 26,89%)

NO DOUBLE -0.096

DROP +0.203

BLACK: Close to a flat position or 3 roll position with adjustment. 23 (result 22.8)

WHITE: Nice position with a little more wastage. +7= 24 (result 23.9)

CUBE ACTION: Point of last take 23

DOUBLE/DROP (81.41% 18.59%)

NO DOUBLE -0.203

TAKE +0.231

BLACK: stack and straggler : 3.5x15+10=62.5 (result 63)

WHITE: nice position. Usually one checker deep inside the board is not a problem but two cost 1 EPC more. so +8 here 65 (result 65.5)

CUBE ACTION: 62.5/7 is closer to 9 than 8.  9 or 8-3=6 or 5. so the point of last take is closer to 68.5 than 67.5.

In both case, since it's a redouble, we are not within 1 of the point of last take, so NO REDOUBLE/TAKE (69,97% 30,03%)

REDOUBLE: -0.061

DROP: +0.331

BLACK: two ways to estimate this one:

- flat position with more wastage 26+13 or 14 =39 or 40

- N roll position with adjustment : 5 or 6 roll (adjustment +3 for a 5 roll) so 7x5+1+3=39 or 7x6+1=43

We have a range between 39/43, 39 seems too less and 43 too much, we can choose in the middle and see what happens: 41 (result 41.1) As we see, we can get close with a little of experience.

WHITE: Nice position. Usually, one checker deep doesn't hurt you. +7  43 (result 43.5)

CUBE ACTION: 41/7 is closer to 6 than 5. so 6-3=3 and point of last take 44.

REDOUBLE/TAKE (73,99% 26,01%)

NO REDOUBLE: -0.097

DROP:+0.153
