  • glaucoma that results of closure of pre-existing narrow anterior chamber angle, when dilation of the pupil causes the iris to touch the lens
  • this obstructs the flow of aqueous humor from the post chamber through the pupil, and into the ant chamber
  • the ciliary body in the post chamber continues to produce aqueous humor, which leads to a rapid rise in the IOP
