What is anorexia nervosa?
Definition
A refusal to gain weight bc of a belief that one is overweight.  A failure to maintain 85% of your body weight.  Intense fear of becoming fat.  Look for dental enamel erosion and lanugo development (fine downy body hair on trunk) to spot anorexia.

Bulimia-usually normally weight, have out of control binges

Anorexia, they are underweight, lose menstrual cycles

There is controversy about the dx of those who no longer meet the full criteria for anorexia...once the periods resume or they are no longer underweight...are they simply in remission or do they actually have bulemia?
