Definition
place vibrating tuning fork on mastoid process until pt. no longer hears it, then in front of ear until pt. doesn’t hear it any longer. Repeat on other ear
Nl- AC:BC=2:1 (+Rinne)
Abnl: AC=BC or nearly = (seen in conductive loss)
Abnl: AC:BC less than 2:1 (seen in sensorineural loss)
