DC Power Distribution

Purpose

Definition
To supply 250/125/28 VDC to Vital systems during  normal, transient, and accident conditions
Term

DC Power

Design Basis

Definition

250 VDC supplies highly reliable power to the Main Feed Pump and Main Turbine Generator emergency auxiliaries

125 VDC provide reliable control power to all plant auxiliaries. CW has its own seperate 125 VDC battery supply and chargers.

28 VDC supplies reliable control power to all plant auxiliaries.

NO initiation or control is needed to supply DC from the batteries to the bus.

All battery chargers carry all loads under normal power.

All Batteries are sized for 2 hours of operation during LOPA and chargers regain loads when EDGs come online.

Term
250 VDC Batteries...
Definition

1 bank per unit

120 cells at 2.2 v per cell

2A1 and 2A2 Primary and Backup Battery chargers.

Located on 100' in the 250 VDC battery room adjacent to the 125/28VDC battery room adjacent to the relay room.

FEED: #1 and #2 SGFP Emergency Oil Pump

Main Turbine Emergency Oil Pump

U1 and U2 Emergency Seal Oil Pumps

Term

Two modes of operation for all battery chargers are?

State each modes purpose....

Definition

1. Float

Charger supplies all loads and maintains a slight charge on the battery bank.

2. Equalize

Charger supplies all loads and provides a larger current at a higher voltage on the battery bank to restore battery capacity to its maximum charge.
