Set work out neatly and legibly. If it looks "good" you are more likely to receive some sympathy from the examiner. If they have to "wade" through it and try to decipher it, you are doing yourself no favours.

Space the answers out clearly. If necessary put each point (in a sentence) on a new line (again like a list). Space each question out clearly so there is room if you need to make alterations.

Check the allocation of marks to each question as this is a strong indication of how much you are supposed to write. E.g. 2 marks = a short answer, 5 marks = a longer answer etc. As a rough guide the number of marks = the number of points you should make.

Do not repeat yourself. No examiner will be fooled into thinking you have written a lot if you are just going round in circles. If you repeat the answer to two questions, one of them is wrong.
