Definition
People can tap in and out of online communication whenever they feel like it. THey can control conversation more and only be a part of things that interest them. It has also been proven through various studies that people are more likely to express themselves and be more forward to others online.

Definition
We are likely to do each task less well if we multitask. PAying attention to multiple things at once causes you to not go into as much depth in each thing. Retain less info.

Definition
People can be whoever they want to be online. They can make up false identities and post false pictures. You cannot be absolutely sure who or what you are getting online. Can create characters that show parts of ourselves that we do not usually express

Definition
Have to be careful about info we put out on the internet. Many people have access. Spyware, Cookies, etc...

What is the digital divide? How is it problematic?
Definition
Digital Divide = Term for the gap between people and communities with access to COM Tech. and the people and communities with little or no access to COM Tech.

It is problematic because a small technologically advanced elite is privileged and the majority of citizens are excluded. The internet also is not created to encompass all languages, and many people are illiterate anyway.
