Came from Tajikistan over road in small, dirty trucks, causing the fuel to need to be filtered prior to use. Running joke between Mumtaz, Aref, and Schroen about a truck and oil purchased for $20,00 of the US government's money that never arrived.

CENTCOM inserted first A-team in Panjshir. Primary mission would be to conduct laser targeting to improve bombing of the Taliban. The drop went awry as the helicopters missed the landing zone. There was also controversy over whether they'd be allows to wear their uniforms.

Senior Northern Alliance commander working in the West with forces centered South of Mozar-e Sharif. He operates semi-independently. Leader of the Uzbeck minorities, originally fighting for the Soviets. Is originally given supplies and the assistance of Alpha team, but splits both with General Atta to placate him.

Senior Pashtun commander in direct contact with senior policy makers in Washington. Also supported by wealthy Afghan-American businessmen. They were encouraging the bombing around Kabul so the NA couldn't move in and take revenge on the Pashtuns or move further South. He was captured by the Taliban, tried, and killed by a firing squad.

Took place on Franks' cargo aircraft. Franks pushed for specifics on attack plans and timetables in Kabul which Fahim didn't have to offer. Fahim said if the bombing didn't commence he'd attack on his own because they couldn't last another winter. At this point Franks agreed to target the bombing on Kabul. Schroen considered it
