Sahelanthropus tchadensis
Definition

A primate which lived around 7 million years ago.

Lived on the shores of the lake, where its bones were fossilized and recovered by Brunet and his colleagues in 2001. Represented by an almost complete skull, has a unique mix of homonid and hominoid traits. While the skull itself is hominoid, with a small brain, large brow ridges, and wide face, the teeth seem more hominid like. No evidence it was bipedal.
