Definition
1. All living creatures are made up of cells
2. The smallest unit capable of life is a single cell
3. All cells come from pre-existing cells

Why don't cells get bigger than they are?
Definition
They need a lot of surface area to keep the insides (volume) alive, and the larger the cell, the smaller the proportion of surface area to volume.
