Term

Definition

A body of air with the same tempreture and moiture content throughout.

Term
True or false: air masses take the tempreture and humidity content as the ssurface it is over.
Definition
True
Term
Why is radar important to the study of high winds, hurricanes, and tornadoes?
Definition

Radar is important becauses these storms cant be seen from sattilite when forming, and they can develop very quickly.

Term

Why does the wind blow?

Definition
Winds are caused by the uneven heating of thee earths surface. When a surface is heated the air above it becomes warm and rises. Cold air from somewhere else pour in to replace the rising warm air this air is also heated and rises. while this is  happening th ewarm air is also cooling and sinking onto a cool surface. they cycle goes on and on.
Term
What are land breezes?
Definition

The land heat more than the water during the day. this warm air rises and cool air from above the ocean rushes in to replace it. Meanwhile the warm air  that just rose above the land cool and sink above the oceans. this crates a convection current

Term
What are global winds?
Definition
Winds that poles and the equator. They are the results of a giant connevection current
Term
Describe 3 types of wind
Definition

Trade wind-Flows toward the equator turning west as it goes.

Westerlies-flow from west to east

Easterlies-flow from east to west

Term
What is a jet stream
