Definition

Yes, but they're special types of French brandies. Typically, they're so special that they're considered seperate from standard brandies and are considered "roof shelf", not just top-shelf.

How are fruit brandies produced?
Definition

Fruit  is washed and ground into a mash. Water and yeast are added and allowed to ferment. After the sugar metabolizes the mash is pressed and the liquid is then distilled. Some fruit brandies are aged in oak barrels.

They are considered cordials which kind of conflicts with the information in these notecards. Some fruit brandies like Kirsch and Applejack are repeated in this set and in the "Cordials and Liqueurs" notecard sets.

How is brandy typically served?
Definition

Brandy is typically served straight up in a snifter after dinner but it can also be mixed with water or soda and can be found in some famous cocktails such as the Brandy Alexander (1.5 oz brandy or cognac, 1/2 oz dark creme de cacao, 1 oz sweet cream or ice cream, shake with ice and strain into snifter).

How long can an opened bottle of brandy typically last for once it has been opened?
Definition

It can typically last for up to 3 years. Also, brandy does not improve in quality when it is aged in the bottle. Opening and bottle and then letting it age will just waste the bottle.
