Definition

How do you determine the scale for the Axis V?
Definition

GLOBAL ASSESSMENT FUNCTIONING SCALE:

100=superior functioning, no symptoms, lifes problems never seem to get out of hand, is sought after for many + qualities

50=serious symptoms (ie suicidal, obsessional rituals, shoplifting) or any serious impairment in social life, work or school.

10=persistent danger of hurting self or others or inability to maintain minimal personal hygiene

What is the difference between a somatization disorder, conversion disorder and a pain disorder?
Definition

Somatization disorder begins before 30 yr and presence with combo of pain, sexual, pseudneuro and GI symptoms.

 

A conversion disorder is unexplained motor or sensory deficits

 

Pain disorder is when psych factors play a role in onset, severity or exacerbation of pain
