William Leroy Broun is considered by some to be the greatest Auburn man of all time being that he was the first to admit women into Auburn in 1892. Also,
in 1892, George Petrie introduced football to out great University during Broun's administration

Ross Hall is named for Bennett Battle Ross, leading professor and dean
the cornerstones of the building are inscribed with the names of the founding fathers of modern chemistry
it is rumored that one of the professors who taught in Ross would automatically pass anyone who on the first day of class, had memorized the quote engraved on the front of the building
it is a state-of-the-art facility housing classrooms, laboratories and administrative offices for the Departments of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering
After renovation, the back steps were removed and are now used as tree planters at Toomer's Corner
