-Named after AU graduated John M. Harbert II, a 1946 graduate of Auburn, who gave a generous $5 million gift to finance the building. 

 

-Currently used as a teaching facility and research lab for Civil Engineering Students.

-Originally known as the Aerospace Engineering building but it was renamed after Auburn alum Charles E "Buddy" Davis after his significant $4 million dollar contribution to the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering in June 2007. 

 

-Currently houses the Department of Aerospace Engineering as well as many general University classes.

-Named for US Senator Richard Shelby. 

-The first phase was completed in 2007. The phases that are currently under construction include the Dwight Wiggins Engineering Hall and the Engineering Multidisciplinary Research Facility. 

-The construction of the Shelby Center is for the vision of AU to become of the top 20 engineering programs in the nation.

-Broun Hall was named after the University's fourth president, William Leroy Broun. 

-William Leroy Broun is considered be some to be the greatest Auburn man of all time. He was the first to admit women into Auburn in 1892. Also, in 1982, George Petrie introduced football to our great University during Broun's administration.

-Academic advising for the College of Engineering takes place here during Camp. 

-Broun is a popular location for presentations by professional speakers because of the good acoustics.

-Ross Hall is named for Bennett Battle Ross, leading professor and dean. 

-The cornerstones of the building are inscribed with the names of the founding fathers of modern chemistry. 

-It is rumored that one of the professors who taught in Ross would automatically pass anyone who, on the first day of class, had memorized the quote engraved on the from of the building. 

-It is a state-of-the-art facility which contains classrooms, laboratories and administrative offices for the Departments of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering. 

-After renovation, the back steps were removed and are now used as tree planters at Toomer's Corner.
