Definition
Show how a person manipulates objects.
-Passing a ball or any other object.
-Hand demonstrates the shape, size, or grip of the object

Element Classifiers (ECL)
Definition
Show the movement of elements like air, smoke or liquids
-Opening hand for a splash or a single finger for squirting

Locative Classifiers (LCL)
Definition
Tells the location or movement of an object
-Use a moving finger to demonstrate the path of a ball
-Line drives are fast and low movement compared to a slow and high movement of a pop-up.
-Different shapes indicate different objects
-Finger could be a small ball, while a "B" could be a flat object

Semantic Classifiers (SCL)
Definition
Indicates location or movement of individuals.
-"V" can be to indicate a standing person and curled "V" a sitting person
-Single finger can also indicate a person.
-Direction of the finger indicates orientation to the person.
-Use this to indicate things like walking, lying down, falling, or orientation to other objects

Definition
Uses upper body parts to describe actions like shaking your head, shrugging the shoulders or hitting your head in frustration.
-Used in a role shift

Definition
Using the hands and arms to demonstrate the actions or positions of other parts of the body.
-Hands moving to demonstrate walking or tapping the foot on the ground or fingers to represent crossing your legs or kicking an object

-Long, skinny objects: most commonly, a singular person

-Small cylindrical objects: sticks, pencils

-Delineating 2 dimensional objects: poster board, plot of land, circle, diamond (any shape)

-Trajectory paths and or connections: one way street, two way street, intersection, ball flying midair, a snake moving across a surface, tears

-The way certain animals move: (modification CL-1>CL-X) caterpillar crawling, worm tunneling, snail crawling

-Motorized vehicles: car, tractor, helicopter, bus, motorcycle

-Vehicle related events: parking a car, driving erratically, parallel parking, types of car accidents

-Groups of 3: 3 people crossing the road
