Coolness of one or both extremities at normal room temp implies poor circulation

-immerse one extremity in warm h2o and observe for rise in skin temp in other extremity, which is normal, (b/c of reflex vasodialtion)
Term
Angiography (Arteriography)
Definition
Indicates abnormalities of blood flow d/t arterial obstruction or narrowing

- contrast dye injected into arteries and x-ray taken
- can cause allergies to dye, thrombosis at injection site, and irritation

Claudication w/exercise indicates inability of damaged arteries to increase the blood flow needed for increased tissue oxygenation

-exercise until pain occurs and record length of time from start of workout till pain starts
Term
